Lydia Rachel Figes is a culture writer and editor specialising in the visual arts. She is Content Editor at Art UK through which she regularly contributes to BBC Arts. She has also written for Dazed, AnOther Magazine, Elephant, Guardian, Elle, Artsy, TANK magazine, Little White Lies, Culture Whisper, British Journal of Photography, The Critic, and Apollo Magazine (art news daily) amongst others. Between 2020 and 2021, she organised the Guardian's 'Great British Art Quiz' and 'Great British Art Tour'. She contributed to the publication Artifacts (Phaidon, 2022) and The Great Women Painters (Phaidon, upcoming 2022). Her short fiction has appeared in The London Magazine.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from University College London and a Master of Arts from the Courtauld Institute of Art. She is the co-founder of @radicalwomenshistory.
